PSTN replacement means:
Access to in-country only dialable numbers, i.e., Toll-Free/Free-Phone, National numbers, and most shortcodes.
Caller ID (ANI) is guaranteed, and the call is marked safe if the country has RoboCalling/SPAM blocking.
Call enter country on in-country national trunking as usual for competitive local carrier operating in that country.

Local Numbers refer to the ability to obtain Direct Inward Dialing (DID) numbers in a specific country. They are often associated with Geographic and/or National Numbers. Geographic Numbers are linked to a particular region, much like area codes in the US that typically represent a specific locality (for example, 801 is generally tied to Salt Lake City). On the other hand, National Numbers are designated for use across an entire country, without any regional restrictions, akin to the 900 numbers in the US. Most customers usually opt for or transfer their existing Geographic Numbers.

Number Portability refers to the capability within a country to transfer existing phone numbers from one service provider to another. However, many countries impose restrictions on this process, allowing porting only in specific regions or for certain number ranges. Therefore, it’s advisable to have a telecom representative verify if a customer’s specific Direct Inward Dialing (DID) numbers are transferrable in the respective country.

Emergency Services, in a telecommunication context, signifies the capability that dialing of in country emergency service numbers is supported (I.e., in USA,  it is 911).  It’s important to note that each country has its unique codes for accessing these emergency services.

Toll Free, also known as International Toll-Free Service (ITFS) numbers, refers to a type of telephone number in a specific country that allows individuals within that country to call at no charge. These numbers are unique to each country and can only be dialed domestically. A separate ITFS number is required for each country.
