John was appointed President and CEO in June 2001, bringing to CallTower over 15 years experience with venture businesses, and 25 years of experience in general management. John is responsible for the overall strategic direction and leadership of CallTower. Prior to joining CallTower, John was a principal founder of Convoy Capital, a venture capital firm focused on privately-held, emerging technology companies. Prior to Convoy Capital, John was the principal founder of National Diagnostic Systems, Inc. where he served as Chairman, President, and CEO until the company was acquired in 1994. Previously, John was President of American Biodyne, Inc. John led American Biodyne’s early development, positioning it for its successful public offering in 1991 with annual revenues of $50 million. Medco Containment, now a part of Merck, acquired American Biodyne in 1992. John completed a seven-year tenure as a Director of Ostex International that ended with the acquisition of Ostex by Inverness Medical Innovations, Inc. on June 30, 2003. John holds an AB degree from Harvard College and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

Bret England

Bret L. England

CEO of CallTower Division, EVP and CFO of CallTower Inc.

Bret brings more than 25 years of experience to CallTower as senior financial and operational manager and investor.  He is responsible for all general and administrative functions and strategic planning and implementation for optimal resource allocations and process efficiencies.  Bret is a certified public accountant and started his career at Deloitte and Touche.  He has served in senior, domestic and international, financial and operational roles at Symantec, Informix, Alta Vista, Portal Software, NetManage and JDA Software.  Bret has also assisted several technologies companies in various CXO and board positions and as an investor through England Consulting and Capital Group.  Bret has significant experience with all aspects of mergers and acquisitions and has been involved in over 50 transactions in excess of two billion dollars.  Bret has a bachelor of accounting degree from Weber State University, a master of taxation from Golden Gate University and is a graduate of Stanford Business School’s Executive Management program.
